Stereoscope Coffee Co.
A phone application that optimizes the in-cafe user experience.
order up
A personalized dashboard gives each customer a comfortable, homey feel whenever they return to their favorite coffee shop. After logging in, customers can order remotely. This prevents the line from extending out the door, which takes away from the ambiance (especially for those who are trying to study.)
welcome
What really defines a Stereoscope Coffee Cafe experience is the overall brand aesthetic. Located in trendy Buena Park, CA, this cafe attracts a sizable crowd on the daily. This coffee shop possesses all the qualities you'd expect from a great coffee shop: minimalist design elements, an abundance of natural light, and of course, delicious coffee.
Designing this app meant sticking to the brand's existing aesthetic while improving on the user experience. Although it's a popular destination for coffee-lovers, the amount of foot traffic it attracts causes UX challenges that could deter returning customers.
But...where do I sit?
There's nothing worse than arriving at your go-to coffee shop and discovering that there's nowhere to sit. Because Stereoscope doesn't cover a very large chunk of real estate, finding a seat can be challenging.
Here comes the virtual queue. This is how it works:
- After clicking on the "Find A Seat" icon from the dashboard, you can immediately see how many people are in front of you
- Once a seat becomes available, you have 2 minutes to scan the QR code on the table to claim it
And voila! No more uncomfortable seat-stalking.
check, please!
If you can order remotely, you sure can pay remotely, too. The app stores saved payment info for faster and streamlined service, which means customers can get their coffee sooner. Everyone wins!

do not disturb
Part of the anti-social social club? No problem. The folks at Stereoscope are really friendly, but we get it: you're busy. If you need something from one of the baristas, you can call one over if you need anything.
